Way Too Cold - MindIful Writing Challenge

My husband says, "You can't ski in summer." I roll my eyes and ignore him. Way too cold!

pale sun in ice-crystal halo
vapors of breath frosting my cheeks
my body clenching like a fist
folded into its own puny warmth
thoughts dwell on flickering fires
fleecy blankets and hot chocolate
mind over matter failing
I shiver and endure

  4. My sentiments exactly! I would still take our 105-110 summer days over the 30 degree lows and 50 degree highs of late. I'm a cold wimp for sure :)

  5. Oh, I do love the blue cold of your winter! It has been a long time and I would probably need to run for the fire and hot drink. But, it brings wonderful memories.

  7. Barb! I can totally relate to this one. But it surprises me, I just assume you were impervious to the elements. You seem to always be out in it. I am somehow comforted by this post- xoxox teri- I do wonder though - how cold is too cold?
