The Shroud of Winter in Breckenridge, CO (Our World)

weight of cold
stark bare-bones
shroud of frigid
 cocoons the forest

plummeting temperatures
gusting winds
frenzy and stillness
winter's tug of war

  2. Beautiful photos, Barb! We got a foot of snow here in the foot hills -- only 2 inches were predicted. I do enjoy the "dry" cold of Colorado, however --so different from what I experiences in the east in NY.

  4. Wow! these images are beautiful! A real contrast to the high summer heat-wave we have been experiencing in Queensland, Australia.

  5. I am feeling a chill by looking at the amount of snow in your post, Barb. I think I would freeze in such a weather. Love your pictures, love the verse complementing the pictures: they take me to your world!

  6. I agree - from the photos and your poetry it looks like Camelot. Camelot! I still am in love with the idea of Camelot.

  10. beautiful photos. it has been years since I was in breckenridge. My aunt leaved in Ft Collins and every summer in the 80's we tented and hiked thru out the rockies. it was very good memories.

  13. All the trees are dressed in white. Sometimes the beauty needs to be appreciated from indoors when the temperatures plummet. We are fortunate to live in a place where our homes can provide warmth.

  15. "Winter's tug of war" is the perfect wording to describe winter in the mountains.
