Sacramento

Tower Bridge from American River Trail
When I visit urban areas, I look for Nature amid the high rises. Sacramento, CA, has a wonderful multi-purpose trail along the American River. Bob and I like biking and running the trail, watching for wildlife and enjoying greenery in the midst of the city. This morning, we went out early before the forecasted rain. The day was crisp and the river calm as we ran along the path. Later this afternoon, we hope to watch the bike racers in the Tour of CA finish at the Capitol. A dinner at an Italian restaurant we like should complete the day nicely! Tomorrow onward to Monterey.

  1. Well, that sounds like a very nice day. I see what you mean about the River Trail. It is pretty. It is so nice that towns are starting to include trails in the plans for enriching the city atmosphere. Portland has a wonderful grid trails crisscrossing the area, including miles along the ocean.

I remember your biking photos from along the ocean when you were in CA last spring. Lovely there!

  5. Sounds like a nice vacation. I like watching for wildlife and nature in the cities, too. (Of course watching people can also prove interesting for we woods-dwellers.)
