This and That from Breckenridge

My world is awash with color.
The aspens are shouting in orange and gold.

A few hardy blooms survive the colder temperatures.
The rest dry and go to seed.

I welcome change.

The Denver house sold - the new owner took possession today.
Our glorious fall is nearly over at high altitude.
Snow last night and again tonight signal the coming of winter.
Between unpacking boxes and rearranging the house,
I'm learning a new camera and editing system.

Wherever you are in the world,
I hope something is making you smile!

(All photos Olympus E-M1, Micro 4/3, edited in Lightroom)

  2. Welcome back. Congrats on the sale; sounds like it was fairly painless! Conglomerating two households can't be super easy. Glad you had time to go outside and enjoy (and share). Thank you for that.

  5. Thank you for sending all of us some images of autumn in the high country. Hope that the stresses and challenges of selling your Denver home abate and that the peace of your mountain aerie is complete! Really excited to see what you do with your new camera.

  6. How I would love to see those Aspens in person. I've seen a lot of them in blogland the past week or so.

  7. So good to see a post from you again. Know your were busy but you were missed. Boy, your seasons, except Winter really are quickies. Our leaves are just thinking about changing. Would love to see Aspens like you have.
    Wonderful shots per usual.

  8. YOU are making me smile. You know, whenever I visit your blog I think I should dedicate more interest/energy to photography again. Did I tell you my brother and his girlfriend had a great time in Frisco? Perhaps I need to have a great time in Frisco/Breckenridge some day. As long as you don't have three soup ladles. Evil grin...

  9. Yep, the new camera seems to be working very well, Barb. The photos look crystal clear. Might it be the 'thinner atmosphere' where you are? besides, of course, your expertise!

  10. Superb camera work Barb. You must be very happy with your choice. Winter, oh, I actually heard the word. Our vibrant colours are surrounding us now which I feel are earlier this year than recently. Don't know what that means.

  11. Beautiful! It's funny - your autumn doesn't seem that far ahead of ours. I particularly love your photo of the asters that have survived for so long! Your new camera does a great job. I, too, am learning Lightroom. When I had to get a new computer, I really had no excuses not to learn it but it is not intuitive!

I sent off my first "legal" letters about copyright infringement by someone who is "hotlinking" to my blog. It is now "under investigation". If it works and you're interested, I'll gladly share the information about how to do it.
