Nightfall - Skywatch

As dusk wraps the landscape in blues and ties it with a flourish of pink, we walk down the ski trail into town. We're meeting friends for dinner. A ski lift climbs toward the pale glow in the western sky. We quickly cross the divide between day and night. Luckily, we've brought our own source of light.

  1. So beautiful there. I keep trying to picture your world when mine is so different. It has to be fantastic although perhaps a little more slippery. Carol

  2. So pretty, it makes me miss snow and miss Colorado. I used to live down in Pagosa Springs. Wonderful hot springs if you ever get the chance to head down that way. :) Thanks for sharing!

  6. Now that's the way I like a night out . . . no cars, so exhaust fumes, just the stillness of the night and the light off the snow for company and the walk back home walking off the calories.

  13. I love that light! Do you get that shade in the sky often?

You must not have gotten the Denver blizzard, or else you wouldn't be walking into town. You didn't mention snowshoes.

  14. That second shot is amazing Barb -- oh, and thanks for sending the snow our way! I think we're up to about 8 inches so far and it's still coming down. :)

  15. Can you believe I've never been skiing...and it's not far from where I live.

Your photos show the beauty of nature and solitude.

  16. I was only on a ski lift once in my life. I have a fear of heights, so I was holding on so tight on the last hill down (pretty steep), that I couldn't let go at the bottom. I caused a huge crash of people trying to get off. What an embarrassing moment. Thanks for stopping by to comment on my starlings post. - Margy

  17. We have a strange winter this year. It snows and the next day the rain washes it all away. Cold days are alternated with mild weather. Your shots are very pretty.

    God bless.

  18. This is a beautiful shot of the snowy mountainside and ski left at dusk. I really like all the shades of blue and the silhouetted trees.
