snow swirling through the night, wind buffeting, the house a groaning ship in a white sea
We're back in Breckenridge, where a gusty storm deposited 10" (25C) of snow overnight.
Trees hold fluffy pillows and drifts undulate into the forest.
The sun is shining, telling me to put on layers and snap into the touring skis.
This is the last day of the Mindful Writing Challenge.
Though I am in the habit of writing daily, it's not always something to share.
Posting daily is a challenge for me.
Perhaps I'll join the community in writing a small stone each Sunday,
which seems more doable.
Yippee for small stones, blog friends,
and
SNOW!
Barb, doing a post each day is a real challenge, and I continue to totally admire those who do. Time, thoughts about words, photos to select, edit, and we readers so enjoy the results.Your mindful writings ,very thoughtful words, looking forward to more small stones. Cheers from Jean
ReplyDeletehope it is 'good' snow! :)
ReplyDeleteYou made it! Yay! You must be a whole day behind me as it's already half six Friday here. I've been thinking that small stones make great updates. Or when I'm feeling lazy, or have something to say but not enough for a proper post. So I might keep the concept for random use myself. I don't think I actually followed the rules to the letter LOL.
ReplyDeleteAre you allowed out in the snow already? Your face must have healed. Take care! And thanks again for introducing me to SS. I had FUN! X
I have enjoyed your Mindful Writing Challenge entries very much. Each one gave me something to think about.
ReplyDeleteWe are almost snowless here. The grass is green! Maine is not what it used to be.
I am so thrilled with you snow...guess that snow dance did help. ;-) The news that you are going to strap on the touring skis....means you are feeling a lot better. The daily stone has been a true challenge! I, too, write daily and have decided that my posts after today will be less frequent and I am going to try to make actual poems of what I put out there...not just observations/pictures. Am considering the Sunday thing, too. It has been such fun sharing the challenge with you. Go well!!
ReplyDeleteyippee for your 10 inches...only is a wish for me. Sorry this is over, did enjoy seeing you everyday.
ReplyDeleteYay for the snow! Your writing is so lovely -- I'd be delighted if you decide to continue to post.
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying your creative writing and photo edits Barb. Hope your medical issues are better. :)
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed your small stones. Sure hope you are feeling much, much better!
ReplyDeleteBarb - This challenge has been a great way to get to share with you. I do understand the time constraints and effort, so I may or may not continue. The exercise has been wonderful in that I wrote so much more than usual. Sundays seem doable so I will try to share then too. Actually I will be writing a haiku a day in February for Na Hai Wri Mo. Again it will be a mindful writing practice. Enjoy your snow and winter blessings. Andrea
ReplyDeleteYour small stones are a delight! Hope you're feeling well enough to enjoy all that lovely snow.
ReplyDeleteGreat word image, Barb - glad you made port alright and can go out and enjoy the snow waves.
ReplyDeleteWonderful capture.
ReplyDeleteYou did it, Barb! Cheers to your accomplishment! I admire and respect you whole-heartedly. I’m sorry to be a late comer to this blog. I scrolled down and I liked all the creative images fitting to the writing.

I am so happy you got some snow! we did get a scuff on the tips of the mountains here and photographing it was amazing but....I was happy that it was UP there and I was down here! :)
ReplyDeleteI can understand how taxing it is to write daily. But you do keep up your high standards even so. That is a wonderful capture, have a happy weekend Barb :)
ReplyDeleteYou did very well to share so much. It's far easier for me to share photos than information about myself so I think I understand where you are coming from.
ReplyDeleteperfect image for your small stone. i can feel the frigid weather!
