Lighting the Candles - Mindful Writing Challenge

Needing cozy, I light all the candles in the early afternoon. Though still daylight, their glow makes me content. The hearth beckons with leaping flames. Snow sifts downward, white onto white.
In my cocoon of warmth, I wait.

  1. 2 completely different worlds separated by a wall and windows. I know where I'd rather be. Hope your face is feeling better and, is that a little christmas tree I see, still on the table?!

  2. I wished I was right there with you patiently waiting to go out and play in the snow. I know you can't wait. Not to worry, it will be soon.

  9. Georgia little pea stated it well. Two vastly different worlds, both appealing with only a relatively thin divider. I love candles also and now let the salt lamps set a similar atmosphere.

  12. Flame and fire goes back eons to a time when that was the warmth and the safe place. A tiny candle flame must evoke some of that feeling of comfort. Hope you curled up and enjoyed the cozy atmosphere.
