What's for Dessert - Mindful Writing Challenge

Hair swinging to her waist, she maneuvers the mixer through the heavy batter, trying hard not to splatter. Eggs are cracked carefully until six yolks glisten in the cup. She’s delighted with the flower she sees - each yolk a bright petal. Into the mixing bowl and some more whipping. In a couple hours, we all "ohhh!" and "ahhh!" at the finished product, the browned top rising above the rim of the pan. Perfection! Everyone claps. Our nine year old chef takes a bow. There will be cheesecake for dessert.

  3. A baker in the making. I'm impressed and once again, drooling. Can we please write about something other than food? ;)

  4. Love the "petals"....splendid observation. And, your 9 year old baker surprised me, as it did for TexWisGirl.

  5. Wow!! At 9 years old, I was probably helping on the farm, getting the cows in for milking, taking the hay or silage out in the winter, feeding calves, how wonderful to be able to bake such a stunning cheesecake. Well done!!! Cheers from Jean.

  6. Nice article, it is however easy to misjudge a picture. First I thought that it were peaches in a bowl instead of eggs.

  7. Loving that you had such a great time with your grandkids... they'll have wonderful Holiday stories to share when they go back to school....and wonderful memories to last a lifetime.

And I've had a wonderful time this morning catching up on your mindful posts. They make me smile. (Well, of course, except for the one where your face is sick and again, I hope you're better by now.)
