In the Eye of the Beholder

Last week, I hiked up a trail surrounded by aspens barren of leaves.

Fall does not last long in the mountains of Colorado.

When it snowed this weekend, icy hearts formed among my sedum.
The baton was passed.

The beauty of winter is upon us.

  5. I was just thinking the same thoughts today, that fall isn't lasting quite long enough. We had some serious winds that removed much of the beautiful foliage. Yet, your last comment, that the beauty of winter is upon us rings true, especially in your gorgeous photos! I do love the stark beauty of winter, also.

  7. How gorgeous! Love those reds in your second shot. Autumn doesn't hang around for long here, either. Yesterday was like a golden leaf storm.

  12. You're not kidding about autumn being short-lived there. That icy sedum sure does make a lovely photo. Despite the design, there's nothing cold hearted about that lovely shot.
