Dawn

night's veil lifts
rouged peaks blush with light
shadows of doubt disappear
birth of a new day

I took these photos at dawn last week before snow fell both in the mountains of Summit County and in the city of Denver. I don't have a direct view to the east from my Breckenridge house, but I can see the effects of dawn on the Tenmile Range to the west. The weather has turned cold and damp - fall is rushing out the door. Winter arrives offering its embossed calling card.

I wave goodbye as I say hello.

  6. Autumn is in full glory here, but frost warnings remind us that winter is coming. Enjoy sitting on the cusp between the seasons.

  9. Is it early for snow Barb? I'm trying to determine what kind of winter we are going to have, but every day is so different from the next, I have no clues yet. :)

  10. ummm very pretty Barb. I can imagine how excited you are for the snow fall and beginning of your ski season. I am just looking forward to a temp. under 90 these days! I live here because of the warm weather, but...I am ready for some FALL here! 80's or 70's would be welcomed! Just looking at your pictures I can breath in the fresh air. Growing up along the Wasatch Mountains before the city was invaded...lol...there was a lot of fresh air.
