Went skiing early and nearly froze. It was so cold that the skis "stuck" even going downhill. Lots of poling and possibly some minor swearing complaining. When the wind picked up, snow blew from the trees creating whiteout conditions. Any skin not covered froze immediately. After two hours of torture fun, we skied back home. Waldo smiled a greeting - he loves the cold. More snow due tonight - hopefully no windchill.

  5. Very handsome tree face, I wouldn't mind meeting such a jolly fellow.

I've been trying to find a button which tells me when you've blogged; you also have no followers' facility.

  9. I am sorry, but I am laughing!
Two days ago, I never even opened the door to the outside (3ยบ), and that was a first. Am I getting old, or what?

  10. Love that face! Love that you swore, I mean complained. Glad that you overcame any torture and made it (almost) fun. I know some of those freezing days. Did your eyes weep as you skied?

  12. Sounds like inside is the right option here. But on the other hand, under such weather conditions, being outside for a little while can be exhilarating! Love Waldo!

  13. Loved the crossed out words. I went for a snowbike ride today, and I had a very similar experience. Now, the forecasters just warned that the winds may DOUBLE in speed overnight. Oh my...

    Love Waldo!

  14. Hey, Tree Man looks a little like my husband . . . although he wouldn't even think of being outside in the conditions you mention!

You are dedicated, to get out and ski in freezing weather. I bet you felt pretty exhilarated, though. How could you help it?!

  15. Cold and windy here, - I ventured out to fill the bird feeders, but quickly back in again. Charles and I reminisce about 60 below F weather in Edmonton when he first began training and was still at the guard duty stage! Keep warm.

I bet LBR is so warm and cozy in the living room.

Keep warm, and a little love, says the rose afghan.

  19. This made me smile. I miss snow, but not enough to leave the winterless north (yes, I'm a southern-hemispherer)!
PS: One day I want to look like tree man.
