  1. Beautiful colours! I love blue flowers in my garden, so that aster would be a winner! I need to do some catching up on your posts, Barb. I see you have a new profile picture...it's lovely! You are so slender! I wonder how you manage it living in such a cold country. I find I get so hungry in the winter months and pack on the kilos!

  3. So true. I read an article about the flowers and grasses at the Denver Botanical in the Denver Post today that was interesting. September certainly doesn't bloom like June does, but it does bloom with its own special beauty. The Asters and Indian Paintbrush truly are survivors.

  5. They're hanging in there, aren't they?

So beautiful, but so very different from the blooms we saw three months ago.

  6. it is so funny, you think these are such a delicate little flower but look at the strong stems! I think that is what I noticed right away, the tiny little blooms and the strong....stems....(sigh) kind of like us huh....

  7. Survivors and remnants of the warm summer heat, still retain their beauty. Hope you are doing well(I presume) on your hike in the CO mountains.

  12. Flowers need those bright colours to attract pollinators. And we need their bright colours to put smiles on our faces. Lovely photos.

  15. I really like the photo of the asters. The delicate brown grass adds an airy boquet-like feel to the clump of flowers.
