Cabin Fever

snow sticks like foam to evergreens
drifts sculpt the roofline
wind howls a lament
cabin fever

I've been cooped inside for days due to gale force winds and drifting snow. We've gotten over 2' of snow in 2 days. Should be great skiing if the wind ever quits!

  1. Ok the snow is wonderful but those gale force winds are a bit much. Looks like quite a build up on the roof.

  4. Boy, that is a lot of snow. A couple years ago in Dallas we were iced in for 3 or 4 days and I thought I'd go berserk. I feel for you and hope it lets up soon!

  5. Oh, to be sharing in some of your moisture-laden snow. And, it is really beautiful. I do understand the cabin fever part. But, wow--what a spectacular scene.

  7. Two feet! I haven't seen that much snow in a while. I hope you at least have a peak of sun here and there.

Your poetic words paint a vivid description.

    1. When the bank in front of our house starts falling into the street, the town comes and hauls it away. They've been doing that this AM!

  9. Woow!! a lot of snow! It must be sooo cold, but in the first photo, your soft snow looks warm bed.

I am having many responsibilities with my family in laws these days but I am doing well, keeping my smile. I will have enough time to sit in the end of January. I will write you in that time!
Take care not to have a cold, Barb!

  12. Wow, so beautiful, yet treacherous, especially with the gale force winds. About day three of being cooped up indoors would drive me bonkers. Blessings for the roof over your heads. Stay safe and warm.
