Nightfall near Antelope Canyon

In western United States, there are vast tracts of land apart from human settlements.

Without man-made light sources, eyes adjust to more natural illumination as the Earth revolves on its axis.

Day turns to night.

Burnished light pours like elixir from Heaven.

We raise our faces to the Moon.

Photos of the night sky taken near Antelope Canyon, just outside Page, AZ.

  1. Yes, we do get used to the lack of light in rural areas -- depending on the moon to guide our way...

Lovely captures, Barb. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead! xoxo

  2. Beautiful skies. I love the golden moon. The moon here rises through city smog taking on a more orange shade.

  12. I've been back to this post several times..."burnished light pours like elixir"...amazing phrase, but such an apt description of the transitions in the desert SW.
