Alone on the trail at dawn,
I pause to look closely at an aspen leaf glowing on a bed of crystal.
Did it hang on somehow since fall so it could show its final radiance in just the right setting?
There are always small wonders if I take the time to notice.
Oh you girl. This is such a totally cool image. Look at that snow/ice/crystal feeling. Love this. Carol

What a beautiful photo and a great reminder to stop and notice. In our modern world we miss so much.
ReplyDeleteSo true. Both the stone and the photo are lovely.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, - beautiful vivid colours against that lovely textured background. If you have edited the picture Barb, how very clever and creative you are. If not, it is a marvelous capture.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful stone. The leaf shadow is practically in the shape of a heart.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! The fierce red is showing its pride!
ReplyDeleteThe well lit leaf just knew you would come along and snap the perfect photo. Just gorgeous- I swear I see a touch of ocean at the bottom .. but then I am always ready for the ocean.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely.
ReplyDeleteA stunning photo with an almost surreal quality - capturing the elements of sky earth and water in one jewel like image.
ReplyDeleteIt is perfectly curled up to catch the sun's rays! Lovely metaphor.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful leaf! The sun is shining on it with such poignancy. If we but take the time to notice, life reveals its wonders everywhere.

ReplyDeletegood eye! love it :) the shadow adds a lot, good stuff !
ReplyDeletePerfectly lovely for the glistening snow which must change its colors in the light, the radiant red, the gold, and the shadow. The leaf looks animated. The Aspen leaf and Barb, both were fortunate to be found and to find before the leaf crumbling apart.
ReplyDeleteOh Barb that is so beautiful! Your words, your photo, and even more so the fact that you 'saw' it and appreciated it enough to let us share in the moment too.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! x
