Life is often illusional.
Don't jump to conclusions.
I took this photo through the leaves of a Japanese Maple toward a Koi swimming in a pond. I love the shape of the branch and the reflections as well as the blurred leaves in the foreground. There is so much going on in the photo - I'm not sure you would even know what it's about at first glance. I feel it's a perfect metaphor for Life.
Looks like a Japanese painting I love. So fluent and beautiful scene with many stories.
ReplyDeletebut at the same time it is so incredibly beautiful, you can't help but want to look at it. if we could see each new day this way...
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw the photo, I thought it was a Japanese watercolor. Everything about this shot pleases my eye.
ReplyDeleteThis is life imitating art, or art imitating life. I'm not sure, but it is truly a wonderful photograph. Absolutely inspirational.
ReplyDeleteA perfect metaphor. We do see through a glass darkly, now....What a dreamy image, though.
ReplyDeleteI think you're right!
ReplyDeleteEthereal comes to mind. Just lovely, Barb. :)
ReplyDeleteA life filled with beauty.
ReplyDeleteLovely! The muted tones are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhich is reflection, which is shadow, and which is real,...I can't tell at a glance, need to stop and figure out.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you explained what's in this photo. Otherwise I would have seemed a bit abstract. I's actually a very attractive photo!
ReplyDeleteSuch verity! We hear you've been here and now in OR? What a great trip - and wonderful photos! Have been looking through several posts back and your thoughts and pictures carry such beauty and truth - thanks for coming by and saying hi! Look forward to the next post!

PS - yes... it's been very windy and wintery here - definitely not our typical summer fare, ugh!
the colors are so soft...I actually had to squint because I thought it was my eyes that were not focusing LOL, lately my sight has been so blurry! It is beautiful and looks like a painting!
ReplyDeleteI think that's how I get most of my exercise, by jumping to conclusions:)
ReplyDeleteWhatever it means, it's lovely.
ReplyDeleteooh la la. my eye wants to find the Koi but they're hidden enough to just give the hint that yes, something more is there to see. love this one.
ReplyDeletei love the fact that i didn't know what it was.....xo
