Promise in the Air

a soft filter of light
quiet afternoon shadows
spring inching forward

More snow is in the forecast, but the melt/freeze cycle has started. Sunny days soften the snow which refreezes overnight. The quality of light is changing as days become longer. The evergreens seem to stretch and breath deeply after the long, cold winter. I'm breathing more deeply, too. There is a promise brought by the warmth of the sun. Wherever you are, I hope you feel that promise, too.

  2. Beautiful post, such fitting words. spring has seemed a lifetime away this year and I imagine that the trees are stretching, waking up form a cold winter's nap!

  3. So beautiful. Yes, the hope of Spring is here, even in drought-weary Northern CA. Everything is brilliant green, trees blooming everywhere. Just enough rain to make it all happen again. I love your focus on the light as it moves and changes through the seasons. Always one of my great joys.

  5. So beautiful, Barb. Here, it's more like a suggestion than a promise but I'll take it.

  8. Beautiful meditation Barb. Even here, the longer daylight hours seem to be promising new adventures.

  9. Absolutely beautiful words Barb, just like your snowy-spring world. In India (Mumbai) winters are slowing fading away and it's the promise of a very very hot summer that I am breathing right now.
