I'm practicing using a new Macro lens which fits on top of my zoom. As you can see, I have a way to go to achieve clarity. I think steadiness is necessary, so maybe I'll need the tripod. But, this image of my blooming cactus, though blurred, reminds me of something beyond what it actually is. In my imagination, the bloom morphs into something more nebulous, something spiritual and positive. So, I'm sharing it with you. After all, we're all imperfect.
I walked in the city today in bright sunshine with wind swirling blossoms off the trees and through the air. My spirit also soared as I caught the eyes of others out enjoying the day. Often, smiles were exchanged. I felt a sense of renewal, hope, and energy. No matter our differences, we are connected in ways we cannot always fathom. I give thanks for this day and for you - to whom I am also connected in ways I sometimes ponder.
Barb I give thanks to you for your words of encouragement always lift me up and remind me of how wonderful life can be. I love your outlook on life so much. And that image is beautiful. I'm still learning to use my new telephoto lens when using my close up on my new camera so I know how you feel. Happy Easter to you and yours. Carol
ReplyDeletei love your sentiment. thank you. and right back to you. :)
ReplyDeleteand your bloom shot is beautiful.
Practice can only make better, not perfect. And that includes all aspects of life.
ReplyDeleteYour bloom is quite beautiful.
Macro on top of zoom huh. Hmmm
Hi,Barb.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!!!
I always love your sentiment,Barb.
Tomoko ....sighs of admiration.
It looks like a bird in flight - the blur or wings in motion. Spring is the time for renewal. I, too, cherish the connections I have made through this blogging adventure.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same as Susan -- reminds me of a swan or crane in flight. Very pretty Barb. You'll have fun with your macro.
ReplyDeleteYour good mood is infectious -- especially on a sunny spring day like today. :)
I like it. Tell me about the lens. David had asset of three screw on lenses for his old Nikon F2 to do macros. They worked well. Is your anything like that?
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
Hi Barb, I have that same experience, even with constant practice, my photos are still blurred. I have 3 extension tubes that I got a few months ago, and I have not gotten used to it. The macro I got is great for portrait too, but have not expanded my horizon yet.
ReplyDeleteYour flower looks like a bird, pretty!
Happy Easter!
HI Barb, I also love your comments and your words of encouragement. Your outlook on life is so positive. I always know when I visit your blog I will be lifted up, inspired, and treated to beautiful photographs.
ReplyDeleteThis photo is lovely!
Not perfect? It looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Filip
Happy Easter, Barb. Good to see you doing the macro work. It is one of my great joys...and there is definitely a spiritual aspect to the blossom the way you caught it. Beautiful. Walking in the City is one of my great daily joys...always the reminder that I am connected to folks who outwardly seem very different from me.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! You think you have a way to go? I think I see a beautiful piece of art!
ReplyDeleteWonderful composition Barb. You do have clarity, just maybe not on the exact spot you were aiming for. Great work.
ReplyDeleteOh, I like it! It is imperfectly perfect. It reminds me of spirit-in-motion...
ReplyDeleteIt's a very beautiful photo, Barb. I'm having fun playing with a macro lens, also. Keep on shooting.. and sharing.
ReplyDelete...being a nature lover,
ReplyDeletebeing in love with imperfect nature
keeps me walking in the world of solitude
and differences. Have you taken your eye
to see an up-close and personal look at that bloom
without a camera lens? Loving your blogs, Mar
Nice pic, I liked it Barb. And you are so right, we feel connected and we probably are too. Have a lovely day Barb:)
ReplyDeleteThank you Barb! I feel the same about my blogging friends. The 'perfectly imperfect' makes me smile. I do a swim exercise class most mornings, wherein we listen to a tape and follow the routines -- we have a set of 8 routines, so by this time of the season they're all pretty familiar, we can recite along with the tape. At the end of each set, the instructor says "that was perfect" or "you're just perfect" ....and we all collapse in helpless laughter, because we are definitely a pool full of perfectly imperfect bodies!
